Chaos Theory 13. Khrissy 14. Like To Be Alone 15. Big Deal 1 - Peter Bazooka ----------------- In the verses, it's very difficult to match the lyrics up with the chords, as they're spoken rather than sung in time. I've attempted it in the first verse to give you an idea of how they go together, but after that it's up to you! Anyway, you can't really play and sing along to this at the same time. Just a bit too hard. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Verse: ----- Basically just play the following and don't pay too much attention to where the words go. Just play the chords and let your singer worry about the timing. :) Part 1: E G F# A (x4) Part 2: E F F# G (x4) The last two verses are the exceptions to this rule. In the 3rd verse, you only play the 2nd part 8 times. The last verse (which is half length) you play the 1st part twice, and the 2nd part twice. A brief approximation of timing is as follows. E G F# Tuesday - yes, it was Tuesday A E When I saw my congressman coming out of the titty bar G F# A He didn't look like my congressman, but that's okay E G F# Nobody really looks like themselves anymore A E I think its got something to do with that crap G F# They've been pouring into the water A E I decided it might be wise to follow the congressman F F# G Just to see what he was up to. E After all, my tax dollars do pay his salary. F F# G E The congressman got into a taxi, so I hailed a taxi F F# G E Despite the obvious dangers involved F F# G And the coloured voices in my head began to sing: Riff: ---- The riff is played over the second half of each verse, where the second chord progression is being played. Again, the exception to this is the 3rd verse (which consists of only the 2nd progression - see above) when the riff is not played at all. E----------------------| B----------------------| Repeat G---9-10-9-12b--9---10-| as many D----------------------| times as A----------------------| necessary E----------------------| Chorus: ------ C# A All I gotta do is put my ear to the wall C# A And I can hear it all, yes I can hear it all C# A All I gotta do is put my ear to the wall C# A And I can even hear the little insects crawl That should pretty much do it! ------------------------------------------------------------------- Lyrics ------ verse: Tuesday - yes, it was Tuesday When I saw my congressman coming out of the titty bar He didn't look like my congressman, but that's okay Nobody really looks like themselves anymore I think its got something to do with that crap They've been pouring into the water I decided it might be wise to follow the congressman Just to see what he was up to. After all, my tax dollars do pay his salary. The congressman got into a taxi, so I hailed a taxi Despite the obvious dangers involved And the coloured voices in my head began to sing: chorus: All I gotta do is put my ear to the wall And I can hear it all, yes I can hear it all All I gotta do is put my ear to the wall And I can even hear the little insects crawl verse: The congressman was in taxi number 23 And I was in cab 17 But numbers are meaningless in this kind of cat and squid game My driver was an Aries And he laughed when I said "Follow that cab!" And he kept laughing until he saw the cold blue steel of Little Elvis "Keep your god damned hands off that radio!" I warned him "I work for the government!" This is actually a half truth, I'm really a bike courier, But I make a lot of deliveries to government offices. That's where I heard about the cheese. And the coloured voices in my head kept singing: chorus: All I gotta do is put my ear to the wall And I can hear it all, yes I can hear it all All I gotta do is put my ear to the wall And I can even hear the little insects crawl verse: There's this super secret government program called "Operation the cheese stands alone" It's the congressmen's pet project They claim that they're giving surplus cheese to the needy I, of course, have my suspicions After 15 very quiet minutes The congressman's cab pulled up outside a warehouse I had the aries circle around the building and drop me off. He seemed to be grasping the importance of my mission Since he said I didn't have to pay him. As long as I promised to stay very far away from him and his taxi. I swear, some people just don't want to get involved. chorus: All I gotta do is put my ear to the wall And I can hear it all, yes I can hear it all All I gotta do is put my ear to the wall And I can even hear the little insects crawl verse: So I walked into that cold dark place Little Elvis drawn and ready for action I too was ready - Ready for the moment when I would be a real american chorus: All I gotta do is bang my head on the wall And I can have it all, yes I can have it all All I gotta do is bang my head on the wall And I can even make the little insects crawl Play chorus to fade. 2 - The Train I Ride -------------------- Lyrics: ------ Verse: G F# I work on a train D C# That's eleven and a half cars long G F# I can only work at night D C# Cause the things I do are wrong verse: We carry some nasty substances On this little night train The first car's full of dioxin Enough to wipe out the state of Maine Chorus: F# G Oh the evil terrible things B A That I sent down those tracks F# G I snuck them through your town at night B A Right behind your back B A On our little train (x2) verse: The second car's just painted black What's in it nobody knows Though sometimes it makes a buzzing noise And once I saw it glow. verse: The third car carries poison gas And the fourth car it does, too The fifth car's filled to the breaking point With ortho orange forty-two chorus: Oh the evil terrible things That I sent down those tracks I snuck them through your town at night Right behind your back On our little train (x2) Alternate Verse: G D The sixth car leaks a strange brown ooze G D On to the hobos who ride below G D It caused their hair to fall out E B And their fingers turned bright blue E B I swear to god it's true. G D The seventh car carries raw sewage G D You can tell just by the scent G D We used to have a warning sign E B But something ate right through the print verse: Some sort a' illegal baby food Is what we got in car number eight And although I've never tried it myself The conductor says it's great verse: We load the bodies of dead lab animals On to car number nine And I swear that sometimes late at night I can hear those critters whine (The last chorus and verse are played with the same chords as what I've labeled the Alternate Verse. I've marked the chords above the words just to make sure.) G D Oh the evil terrible things G D That I sent down those tracks G D I snuck them through your town at night E B Right behind your back E B On our little train G D Both cars number ten and eleven G D Carry tainted juice G D And I can hear it sloshing around E B From my chair in the caboose. End on B. 3 - The Girl With The Strong Arm -------------------------------- Well, this one was a bit of a marathon. Not only are the verse chords damn tricky, but the words! Damn. Anyway, I've eventually come up with an approximation that will do. If you don't like it... fix it! :P Main Riff: --------- G# C# G# C# highF# The main riff is played for the verses. It's quite fast and thus is even harder to figure out. I'm still not 100% on this (the G# doesn't really sound right, but neither does anything else!) but it'll do until someone fixes it. Hit the G# and C# twice each and the F# 3 times. Verse: ----- G# C# G# C# highF# The girl with the strong arm has saved world cinema Saved it from itself I like to think The girl with the strong arm restores old paintings Including one she found under the sink The girl with the strong arm killed an innocent bystander That leaves you with a mental picture The girl with the strong arm drank straight whiskey But I understand she still quotes scriptures Chorus: (for want of a better word) ------ Bm G All poor gardeners ?berry sauces A During the week long festival Bm G Kneeling down to think about the future F# Racing you would be quite dull Bm G After many years of exodus A The hatchery fish run in rich rivers Bm G I'm afraid the memories regarding Nixon D Are a little scary verse: The girl with the strong arm threatens the Quakers They all say she's mad y'know The girl with the strong arm has an abrasive accent She uses words like eskimo The girl with the strong arm stands beside a woman Whose many parts add up to one The girl with the strong arm makes political commentary Yet I feel that it's all in fun chorus: In your nightmares rub around Those gay white males line up at church Drink their coffee pretend to be a cowboy Set aside an hour to search Pulling up leaves like little Russian problems Is now the tasty thing to do The unattractive ? cloying sweetness is you Other Bit: --------- E A The most popular sidearm with Canadian woodsmen B D Is the blue steel woodchuck gun E A Manufactured in Atlanta, Georgia B D By the firm of Youse & Son E A I find no fault with the two young lovers B D Who dine all night on candied eels E A Then dance till dawn to big band music B D And the sound of baboon squeals E B All last night I stared at jelly E B Till I knew love was all around E B Travelling through O'Hare airport E B Dressed like a circus clown verse: The girl with the strong arm has started licking batteries And that's kinda strange, even for her The girl with the strong arm would like to be a banker But I don't think she's really sure chorus: Using strings just to pull things over Really keeps the party going I'm not sure but the history of Denmark Maybe the only thing worth knowing Has it ever dawned on you That car accidents just might be art And all those kids in foster care Just don't think you're very smart chorus: (2nd bit only) Down by the ? on mother's day In a state of perpetual bliss Stan's the man with the lisp End on D. 4 - I'm Flying Away ------------------- Really pretty easy, but sounds quite nice. Just play bar chords and use that ska kind of rhythm that the Milkmen use fairly often: play on the off beats... ie. if you count 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & etc., play the chord on an upstroke on each of the & beats. That was hard to explain in words :P, just listen and you'll get it. Chords: ------ I hope you know all these chords (if not, learn them!) but I've put them here, because it's important you play the right bar chords. D x57775 A 577655 Bm x24432 or 799777 F#m 244222 G 355433 Em x79987 F#m2 x-9-11-11-10-9 G2 x-10-12-12-12-10 A2 x-12-14-14-14-12 The different versions of F#m, G and A are used during the bridge part ("my alarm is set"). Lyrics: ------ Verse: D A Bm I'm getting on a plane F#m Early in the morning D A Bm I'm getting on a plane F#m Let this be a warning G Bm Meet me at the airport G D A Flight 11-41 'cause Chorus: D A Bm I'm flying away G A D A To the one I love verse: I'll be at your place Just in time for dinner I can't wait to see your face It's been a lonely winter Absence makes the heart grow fond But I can't take it any longer 'cause chorus: I'm flying away To the one I love Bridge: D My alarm is set for 5 o'clock Em D I can't wait to hear it ring D My bags are packed, completely full Em D I have lots of stuff to bring Em Arms to hold you F#m2 Lips to kiss you G2 A heart to love you A2 Oh I miss you chorus: I'm flying away, to the one I love instrumental: (with verse chords) chorus: I'm flying away, to the one I love (x2) D A Bm I'm flying away G A D (don't go back to the A this time) To the one I love G A D To the one I love End on D. 5 - Helicopter Interiors ------------------------ Tabbed by: Ben Gladdle (moose9377@hotmail.com) and: Justin Daniel (jusdaniel@hotmail.com) Justin Daniel has helped me out by supplying the very tricky and snazzy verse riff. Hurrah! Justin says that it's easiest to use 2 fingers to play the top 3 strings and use your other 2 fingers to play the notes. And I agree, for what it's worth! :) The timing's pretty easy as it just follows the words. I still need help with the words, and I'm still not 100% about the G#/G#m in the chorus, but I'm leaning toward the G#m now (about 95%), so I changed it accordingly (it does sound a lot better when you're playing just by yourself). Verse: ----- B F# D A E B E---7--11--9--7-------------------------------5-5---5-5---7-7--7--- B---7------------9--7--------7-9-7------------7-7---5-5---9-9--7--- G---8-----------------8---8-------------------7-7---6-6---9-9--8--- D-----------------------9---------------------7-7---7-7---9-9--9--- A---------------------------------------------5-5---7-7---7-7--9--- E---------------------------------------------------5-5--------7--- Stan's been seeing phantoms... You know they'll even laugh at the people we shoot chorus: The tender young boy with the life affirming needs Still waits in the garden And everybody's sure that he's praying for stan verse: Even long lost poets like to regenerate With new arms and legs they sort the mail Cast iron officers wander around The president hopes that he'll grow a tail Chorus: ------ C#m F# Manifestations of ? ? and B G#m Float into the sky at night AIIIEEEE! C#m F# Oh damn it configurations play against the gawky savage B G#m ? ? mayhem ? into the streets of ? ? End on G#m. 6 - The Blues Song ------------------ The guitar is pretty much done, except for the solo, which is quite hard to hear clearly. The bass drives the verse for the song, and that's my next aim with this one. However, the guitar here should keep you going for a while... Verse: ----- The verse consists of the following 4 riffs repeated as necessary. You could also use (8-10-10-9-8-8) as the C chord, which makes the walk up easier. However, the tab was cleaner with the lower C :) Basically, I don't think it matters which you choose. A riff: A A G#A A A G#A E---------5-------5\4/5-----------5-------5\4/5--- B---------5-------5\4/5-----------5-------5\4/5--- G---------6-------6\5/6-----------6-------6\5/6--- D---------7-------7\6/7-----------7-------7\6/7--- A---------7-------7\6/7-----------7-------7\6/7--- E---------5-------5\4/5-----------5-------5\4/5--- D riff: D D C#D D D C#D E---------5-------5\4/5-----------5-------5\4/5--- B---------7-------7\6/7-----------7-------7\6/7--- G---------7-------7\6/7-----------7-------7\6/7--- D---------7-------7\6/7-----------7-------7\6/7--- A---------5-------5\4/5-----------5-------5\4/5--- E------------------------------------------------- A riff2: A A G#A A A BbB C E---------5-------5\4/5-----------5-------5-6-7-3- B---------5-------5\4/5-----------5-------5-6-7-5- G---------6-------6\5/6-----------6-------6-7-8-5- D---------7-------7\6/7-----------7-------7-8-9-5- A---------7-------7\6/7-----------7-------7-8-9-3- E---------5-------5\4/5-----------5-------5-6-7--- C riff: C C B C C C B C E---------3-------3\2/3-----------3-------3\2/3--- B---------5-------5\4/5-----------5-------5\4/5--- G---------5-------5\4/5-----------5-------5\4/5--- D---------5-------5\4/5-----------5-------5\4/5--- A---------3-------3\2/3-----------3-------3\2/3--- E------------------------------------------------- A riff We can stand naked on the corner of Main Street, baby, and Let everybody slow down and take a look D riff You can drive your Cadillac to the library, baby, and maybe read the Last ten pages of an Agatha Christie book A riff 2 You can feed my cat to my dog And turn around and feed my dog to my horse C riff You can screw the whole damn royal family, baby, until they All get a divorce Chorus: ------ G F Baby, baby, baby Bb F Baby, you can do anything you wanna do, baby B C I swear it will not bother me D Cause, baby, you know Baby, you know you've got to You've got to D# You've got to be what you're going to be verse: You can burn down the orphanage, baby, over there on the Poor side of town You can go to the circus, baby, frighten the elephants See if you can get them to maybe, Trample a clown You can steal the prize out of my box of cereal, baby, and Replace it with a rat You can walk up to someone who might be a little overweight And be kinda sensitive about it and say "Oh my god, you're really fat!" chorus: Live and let live, baby That's the cornerstone The very essence of my philosophy And baby Baby, you know You know you've got to You've got to You've got to be what you're going to be verse: I'm gonna play my harmonica Since I charge $35 a note I'm not gonna play much of my harmonica You see the blues The blues isn't an art form It's not a type of music The blues is a product Not unlike computer chips or tampons The blues is a way for white kids to feel That they understand the feelings of black people Without ever having to meet any of them The blues is all these things and more Available for $19.95 chorus: Oh, baby Baby, you can do whatever you wanna do, baby Baby, you know it's not going to bother me Cause baby you know You know you've got to You've got to be what you're going to be Solo: (with verse riffs) ---- Here comes the solo! Ooh, and what a solo it is You know That might not be the blues but it sure makes me sad Listen, in the distance The sound of Leadbelly rolling in his grave chorus: I've said it before, baby I'll say it again Live and let live The very essence, the cornerstone The summit of my philosophy Baby, baby, you know Baby, you know you've got to You've got to be what you're going to be verse: A blues man needs a nickname And everybody calls me Two Shoes Cause I always wear two shoes I know it's not much of a nickname But by the time I got around to getting my nickname All the good ones were taken Take for example Blind Lemon Lipschitz Blind Lemon Lipschitz gouged out his own eyes with his thumbnails So he could be called blind lemon It's true, don't laugh He felt the very essence of the blues, calling him from within And he felt that contract too chorus: Oh, baby Baby, you know Baby, you know you can do whatever you do I don't care I don't give a damn, baby It's not gonna bother me Cause baby, baby, b-b-b-b-b-b-b You gotta You gotta You gotta You gotta You gotta be You gotta be what you're going to be End on A. 7 - The Man Who Rides The Bus ----------------------------- Another of my favourites from Stoney's. This one caused some problems... I tabbed this one (as I usually do) by picking out the bass notes. However, it doesn't sound quite right if you're playing full bar chords with this one. I'd be interested to know exactly what is being played, but I play power chords with the middle string muted as shown below. I don't know the proper names for these chords, but it sounds OK. Chords: ------ E Eb F# B Db Bb D G# E------------------------------ B------------------------------ G--9--8--11-----6-----7-------- D--x--x---x--9--x--8--x--6----- A--7--6---9--x--4--x--5--x----- E------------7-----6-----4----- Intro: ----- B F# B The quick F# B bit is used at the end of many lines and leading into verses and choruses. Just stick one in where necessary if I've forgotten to add it. Verse: ----- E Eb F# B His stop is always after yours E Eb F# B He never seems to leave E Eb I heard him speak only once Db Eb You're standing on my foot Db B F# B You're standing on my foot I think the B that falls on the second "foot" is right, but sometimes it sounds like a E. I'd suggest if one doesn't work for you, try the other! I haven't completely decided yet. If I do, I'll update this right away. verse: He never reads the paper And state's lottery number is 5-8-3 I hope he doesn't look at you Cause you'll have to pay the fare If he looks at you Chorus: ------ F# E The man who rules the world E D Rides the bus all day long E D Staring out the window B Making things happen verse: All the lights turn green at once And it begins to rain Somewhere a TV changes channel And angry words are spoken verse: The milk's gone bad And the phone rings once and stops A sign on the door says open 3000 miles Time to change the oil (x2) chorus: The man who rules the world Rides the bus all day long Staring out the window Making things happen Bridge: ------ G# Eb The wind in the trees G# Eb Is the hardest part B D B F# And he loses sleep at night G# Eb He closes his eyes G# Eb And counts to ten B D G# And hopes it turns out alright E G# Alright... Not one of my favourite DM songs (even the ravioli dinner bit is only moderately amusing), but don't let that stop you. Riff 1: ------ G A G A G# Riff 2: ------ Bb F B F# Play Riff 1 except where indicated. I'm sure you can hear where they all come in anyway. Lyrics: ------ There are others, and then there is myself I must learn to distinguish the others from myself They are separate people, with different personalities They might not like the things I like They might not eat the same food Or they might not want to go to the places where I want to go Riff 2 There are others, and then there is myself Riff 2 There are men, and there are women Often they don't get along I must try to get along with everyone No matter how stupid they might be Or how asinine their opinions are I must learn to love everybody Even people who are so obviously inferior to me That they make my flesh crawl I will get to know these people And I will cook them a ravioli dinner From a can I found, in Mexico City Riff 2 There are others Riff 2 and then there is myself Riff 3 (like so...) C# G I believe in the power of the human soul C# G I believe that the government is in control C# G I believe there's a Heaven up in the sky C# I believe that my neighbours are human spies Tomorrow I will begin bathing This is the start of a 6 part plan Which will take me into the next century In the coming years, I will stop eating with my hands I will let the dog out of the closet for some fresh air I will put away the rubber mask The cub-scout uniform And yes, finally, even the cauliflower There are others, and then there is myself I believe in the goodness of all mankind I believe that the government is reading my mind I believe there's a god who loves us all I believe in the Beatles, except for Paul! I must no longer neglect my inner child For he is very close Right there, under the floorboards I will learn to get in touch with my feelings Even the ones that will probably get me arrested End on Riff 1 without the final G# (ie. just G A) 9 - When I Get To Heaven ------------------------ Once again, just chords, but that really is pretty much it anyway for this one. There's a bit of fingerpicking during all the "Shaggs" bits, but you can figure that out, or just make something up. Lyrics: ------ Verse: F B G C If I go to Heaven it'll probably be a slum And all the pretty angels just might be packing guns And if I see St. Peter will he hit me up for cash Will I find the road to Jesus or just lose him in the trash Shaggs-bit: A The Shaggs were right C You're never going to please anybody A C Not in this world verse: If I go to Hell I might find it very dull Like an Amway convention or an endless shopping mall When all the innocent demons want to poke me with a fork Or just put me in a taxi and send me to New York Shaggs-bit: A C Scientists proved it years ago A C G# The Shaggs were much better than the Beatles C# B Maybe I'll return as an iguana F# A G# And lie upon a beach down in the Bahamas Shaggs-bit: Although ignored in their day The Shaggs are now recognised as the geniuses they were A E I just wanna know what happens when you die D G Do you walk down in a hole or float up to the sky D G Is it just a waste of water, when your widow cries Shaggs-bit: Oh don't tell me you've never heard of the Shaggs? verse: If the atheists are right then I have no need to worry For there is no great being whose favour I must curry And I'll be going nowhere once they lay me in the earth So why waste a sunday by going to church Shaggs-bit: If you really wanted to You could run out right now and buy a Shaggs record verse: If the atheists are wrong then I've got a bill that's due So should I be a Christian or a Moslem or a Jew Should I spend all day just praying on my knees And searching through the world for a deity to please Shaggs-bit: A Shaggs record would be a sound investment C# B If the atheists are right then I have no need to worry F# A G# For there is no great being whose favour I must curry Shaggs-bit: The fat peoples want what the skinny peoples got The skinny peoples want what the fat peoples got But all I've ever wanted is what the Shaggs got ? and my pal, Foot Foot End on A. 10 - I Can't Stay Awake ----------------------- Verse: ----- D C G I can't stay awake D C G Somebody help me, please A D I have too many fingers A D Some of them need to leave A D Help me out of my body G A Help me not to sleep verse: I can't stay awake Somebody help me, please I have too many pills Some of them need to leave Get them out of my body Get them out, please Other Bit: --------- F C F C There's no good way to say good-bye F C F G I'm only good at saying, "Hi." It's pretty much just chords (like a lot of Stoney's) and was therefore reasonably easy to figure out. The only problem I had was the Em in the chorus, which I was convinced was an E for quite some time, which I think has something to do with the very faint lead bit over the top. Just do whichever sounds right for you. I didn't like this one till I learned to appreciate the words. Now the song reminds me of myself :) Verse: ----- G B I am the king of the new white underclass I am the prince of the lazy and poor I am the one who sleeps the latest I am the one who won't do my chores I am the god of unemployment The Antichrist of the american dream I used to fight for church and country But now I don't fit into the corporate scheme Chorus: ------ D G Em I used to get up and go to work But I don't play that game no more I won't work for no corporation I won't owe my soul to no company store verse: Study hard and you'll have a future Oh yeah, when the hell was that ever true? Study hard and you'll still go nowhere Study hard and you'll still get screwed chorus: I used to get up and go to work But now I just wanna stay in bed Maybe I'll join the Communist Party Yeah maybe I'll become a goddamn red Bridge: ------ G F# Workers of the world, unite and do nothing G F# Workers of the world, unite and relax B D Don't get your boss that cup of coffee F# G Don't write that memo don't send that fax F# G Ya shouldn't even pay your income tax B D F# G Workers of the world, unite and be lazy B Workers of the world, listen to me bridge: Another 8 hours at the factory Another 8 hours and what have you learned Be obedient and do what they tell you Be obedient and still get burned Another 8 hours at the factory Work all day for a tiny little check Work all day for no respect chorus: I used to get up and do my job But now I enjoy doin' nothin' better I think I'll go bum around I think I'll enjoy this lovely weather verse: Maybe someday there'll be a revolution Maybe someday we'll have meaningful jobs But until that day I'm gonna be lazy I'm not gonna be no workin' slob chorus: I used to get up and go to work But I don't play that game no more I'm not gonna work for no corporation I'm not gonna owe my soul to no company store chorus: I used to get up and go to work But now I just wanna stay in bed Maybe I'll join the Communist Party Yeah maybe I'll become a goddamn red End on D. 13 - Khrissy ------------ This one's pretty easy except for the weird bit in F#(m?) that has a riff that I can't really figure out. In the meantime, the rest should be fine. Verse: ----- A D A D G G# I tried to get to sleep but I had to throw up I drank a cup of coffee decided to stay up I watched the television took a sleeping pill I had some awful dreams that seemed way to real Chorus: ------ A G# D A G# Khrissy, always on my mind D A Forever all the time B F# You lift me up B F# Yeah you trip me up B F# Yeah you mix me up B F# D You fix me up verse: Now I've learned to punch the clock I'm keeping track of time When I need to pay the bills I get to work on time No time for sleepless nights and drinking until dawn No time for restless flights I must get moving on chorus: Khrissy, always on my mind Forever's a long time You lift me up Yeah you trip me up Yeah you mix me up You fix me up Weird Bit: (with a tricky riff that I haven't got yet) --------- F# (could possibly be F#m at times) You're in the shadows You're lurking in the corners I feel you following me Silently, invisibly (Your name is... [it's too hard to weed out]) You wake me up in the middle of the night and I can't remember what was dream and what was for real 2nd bit of chorus: B F# You screw me up B F# Yeah you shoot me up B F# Yeah you suck me up B F# D Yeah you chew me up verse: Took seven hits of acid couldn't play the show What was goin' through my mind I guess you'll never know It was the coolest thing I'll never do again Now there's no backing out this really is the end chorus: Khrissy, you played it very fine For the final time You hit me up Yeah you trip me up Yeah you pick me up Yeah you fix me up Other bit: (For this bit just play the following chords) --------- D C#m A G# Khrissy Oh Khrissy Khrissy (x2) etc. weird bit: (again F# End on the F# bit. 14 - Like To Be Alone --------------------- Well, as you might have noticed, this one's all piano, but you can always pick these chords out or strum along. Do whatever turns you on. Eeks. Silly me. I accidentally forgot to say that this has a capo on the 1st fret. So either do that, or if you don't have a capo, just play everything one step higher (ie. G becomes G#...etc.) A capo is nicer cause then you'll have open chords for this one, and can fingerpick your way through it. CAPO ON 1st FRET! :) Verse: ----- G Am G Sometimes I like to be alone (x2) Em Bm But when I hear your voice C Am I don't have any choice Am D Em C I want to crawl right through the phone D G And I don't want to be alone verse: Sometimes I need to get away (x2) But when I read your card I found it very hard Not to be with you today Sometimes I need to get away Other bit: --------- D God is gravity C God is the law G God is love so D Love is the law C And love is gravity G I feel you D I feel you C Pulling me verse: Sometimes I'm happy feeling sad (x2) But when I think of you I'm through with feeling blue I think of good times we could have Sometimes I'm happy feeling sad End on G. 15 - Big Deal ------------- I think I've got this one now. I really like this song... By far the best from Stoney's. What made it difficult was the fact that there's not a huge amount of audible guitar. The Em/Bm bit is the main part of the song, so play it the way you like it. I was convinced before that you should play them on the 7th fret, but it also sounds OK if you play them lower down. In fact, I'm pretty sure it swaps around at various points. Also, as you might have noticed there's no solos. There's a lot of solo work in this song, and it might take a while, but it'll come eventually. Verse: ----- Em Bm Em Bm Life sucks, then you die Bm Em Bm Em And your soul gets sucked into the sky Em Bm Em Bm Birds sing, I wonder why Bm Em Bm Em You eat a bowl of cereal and sigh A Bm You're late for your class A C You're walkin' the halls without a pass Chorus: ------ Em Bm Em Bm Big deal Bm Em Bm Em Big deal verse: Time flies, time crawls You're a prisoner trapped between its claws Life sucks, sometimes You gotta learn to live between the lines Your feet are on the ground But the world keeps spinning you around Chorus 2: -------- Em Bm Em Bm Big deal Bm Em Bm Em Big deal C G C G (piano solo starts) Big deal G D G D Em Bm Em Bm C G C G (guitar solo starts) G D G D Em Bm Em Bm C G C G G D G D Em Bm Em Bm C G C G verse: Don't be worried, don't be down I'll be your stupid happy clown Keep your chin up in the air Shake your body like you just don't care Birds sing, babies cry Life sucks and then you die Chorus 3: -------- Em Bm Em Bm Big deal Bm Em Bm Em Big deal C G C G Biiiiiiiiiig G D G D (guitar solo starts) Deal Em Bm Em Bm C G C G G D G D Em Bm Em Bm C G C G G D G D Em Bm Em Bm C G C G G D G D Em Bm Em Bm Repeat and fade.
