For the chorus, just play the chords. The horns are really what can be heard in the chorus, and some day I might tab that out for guitar (if it is possible). Riff: ---- E---2--2--2-2-----4--4--2-2-2-2---------- B---3--3--3-3-----3--3--3-3-3-3---------- G---4--4--4-4-----4--4--4-4-4-4---------- D---4--4--4-4-----4--4--4-4-4-4---------- A---2--2--2-2-----2--2--2-2-2-2---------- E---------------------------------------- I'd actually play this with a capo on 2. This way you can play the 2nd chord in the above sequence as x24434 rather than x24234, which is your other option. It doesn't interfere with the other chords in the song as the Em (x79987) and the A (577655) are higher up. Verse: (with Riff) ----- I'm gonna beat my wife I'm gonna beat my wife now Gonna smack her with a lead pipe Gonna smack her with a 2x4 Run her over with a Brink's truck Chase her down with a lawn mower Gonna beat my wife Look out! Chorus: ------ Em Wife beatin' A Mistreatin' Em Wife slappin' A Em It happens verse: Gonna beat my wife Gonna beat your wife Gonna beat his wife Gonna beat her wife chorus: Gonna beat my wife Gonna slap my wife Gonna kick my wife Good God, y'all! verse: Gonna beat my wife Gonna beat my wife At the shelter Helter skelter chorus: Wife kickin' Finger lickin' Wife killin' It's thrillin' Mess: ---- Yes, that's what this is... It's a mess. There's no way I'll pick anything coherent out of here, so I'm not going to try. I'd give basically the same comment for the whole of "Milkmen Stomp", too! Oh baby please don't beat me, baby I promise I'll never sleep with the moon in my face no more! I've been sitting on this one for a while, trying to make sure it's 100% correct. I may not have got there, but I'm fairly happy with it now that it's got the solo! In the chorus, the high Em (x79987) has a cool bass riff going on in the background, which is my next priority with this song. Chorus: ------ highEm I walk the thinnest line I walk the thinnest line G C I walk the thinnest line highEm Between the light and dark sides of my mind I walk the thinnest line I walk the thinnest line G C I walk the thinnest line highEm Between the good and bad sides of my mind Verse: ----- Am C G And when I'm bad I sit in a tree F Am And spit on people who walk under me C G When I'm good I stay at home F Em C I've got 29 kids all named Jerome chorus: I walk the thinnest line I walk the thinnest line I walk the thinnest line Between the light and dark sides of my mind I walk the thinnest line I walk the thinnest line I walk the thinnest line Between the good and bad sides of my mind verse: And when I'm sad I go to a club Drink enough beer to fill a bathtub When I'm glad I make a wish Find a wife who has read "My Little Fish" Solo: ---- The solo is pretty simple and not fast, and shouldn't pose many problems. Timing is approximate (my standard disclaimer) as usual. It helps if you bend some of these notes slightly. eg. some of the 10s on the B-string. They're only _very_ slight bends so I haven't tabbed them out. Just listen and go with it... it should sound pretty decent anyway. The bass after 1:12 pretty much just follows the guitar, though the guitar throws in the occasional strum where indicated above the tab. Dear TV I want to take you for my briiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide Em (strum once and mute) I walk the thinnest line That's it! Enjoy! 5 - Sri Lanka Sex Hotel ----------------------- I'm proud of the solo on this one at least! :) The verse is fairly tricky to figure out. The Bm throughout most of the verse has a snazzy little riff, but I just can't quite pick it. I'm guessing it may be another song with a main riff based on suspended chords (see RC's Mom for one in Bm... well, when I finish the tab anyway! and Ringo Buys a Rifle is another, though that's in B major)... I've tried mucking around with a capo on to make it easier to figure out, but I can't get it! When I do, I'll fix this file, but until then, enjoy and play along. It'll sound good, and the rest of it is pretty good! And remember... I did the solo! :P Verse: ----- Bm Let's have sex with strangers in the men's room A A# Bm A A# Bm We could do it and not get caught Burn down the house where the metal kids live All the Hendrix posters going up in flames Let's have sex without birth control Sell our offspring to some dirty old man Let's play Big Black at 3 AM And tell the neighbors they can all get fucked Chorus: ------ F# G Comin' over the first hill Bm A G F# G I felt my body jerk Bm A G F# G The attendant did not strap me in Bm A G F# G I'm sure that I am gonna die D A G This is my last roller coaster ride D A G This is my last roller coaster ride D A G This is my last ride verse: Down the street there's an accident I hear that the bodies can still be seen Let's call the sheriff a cock-sucker See if he's read "The Killer Inside Me" Let's have sex with pit bulls Maybe pollute their blood line Little Timmy's in the sandbox At the daycare center run by ex-cons chorus: Comin' over the first hill I felt my body jerk The attendant did not strap me in I see the loop is up ahead This is my last roller coaster ride This is my last roller coaster ride This is my last ride Solo: ---- 1:58 E---------------------------------------- B---------------------------------------- G----6-6---6---7-6------------6---7-6---- D--------7---7-----9-7--7-7h9---------9-- A---------------------------------------- E---------------------------------------- 2:07 E---------------------------------------- B--------------------------------7------- G----6--6-6---6---7-6--------7h9--------- D-----------7---7-----9-7--9------------- A---------------------------------------- E---------------------------------------- 2:14 E----------------------------- B--8-8-8-7-------7------------ G----------9-7h9-------------- D--------------------7--9----- A----------------------------- E----------------------------- 2:19 E----------------------------- B--8-8-8-7----10--8--7-------- G----------9------------------ D-----------------------9----- A----------------------------- E----------------------------- 2:23 E----------------------------- B--8-8-8-7-------7------------ G----------9-7h9-------------- D--------------------7--9----- A----------------------------- E----------------------------- 2:26 E----------------------- B--8-8-8-7----7--------- G----------9------------ D----------------------- A----------------------- E----------------------- verse: Let's burn it down and knock it over Let's have sex with it or leave it alone 3-D Jesus by my bedside Talks to me when it's late at night I thought I left you in Sri Lanka Working the desk at the Sex Hotel For Christ's sake why isn't Bob Hope dead yet? chorus: Comin' over the first hill I felt my body jerk The attendant did not strap me in I feel the track below my feet This is my last roller coaster ride This is my last roller coaster ride This is my last ride End on G. 6 - Bad Party ------------- This one was always a problem, but stumbled on to some of it the other day, and eventually the rest fell out! :) There's bound to be some other stuff going on during the verses, but basically it's just a B. You get the idea. :) 7 - Punk Rock Girl ------------------ This is kind of similar to the one in OLGA, but in what sounds to me like the right key, and with a couple of additions. Thanks to Jim for giving me the chords way back in high school, and to Matt Ransford for his other transcription that cleared up the confusion of the intro chords, unfortunately only after I'd spent hours trying to figure them out. Mine's only got a couple of very small differences (mainly the F on the 4th line of each verse). Also if you've got an accordion just go nuts on it, I'm sure it'll sound great. :) This song now has the solo! The solo was quite tricky to get started on, but I think I've got it right, except for one little bit where there's a couple of quick notes. However, it should certainly get you through the song just fine. Intro: ----- F F F Dm F F Dm F Bb F C F F ^ For some idea of the timing of the intro, just listen to the recording. Well, except for Milkmen Stomp, but no one's ever gonna tab all that mess! The verse riff was the difficult part, but I think I've figured it out finally. Even those who don't like the Milkmen (blasphemy!) might like this. I think the C/G in the second line of the verses is right, as from Joe's tabs he's pretty fond of that chord, and I couldn't decide whether it was a C or a G! Note: I completely forgot to write what this chord is for those that don't know! It is played as a normal C, but with a G on the low E. Hence C/G is 332010 rather than x32010. Hope that clears it up! The only bit I'm worried about is the keyboardy chords at the end. You could always just finish on the F... that'd work! One of my absolute favourite Milkmen songs. Even though it's one of the "straighter" songs. An absolute classic and the humour is all in the delivery, from the quintessential Joe guitar solo to the screaming at the end. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Intro: ----- C F C F Verse: ----- C F Hey Kitten, whatcha doin'? I'm pretty sure it's a Dm, but it may have a variation to it. 2) The chorus chords. I play power chords cause the high notes of the bar chords don't sound quite right. I'm sure you know what power chords are, but for the uninitiated, they are the low 3 strings of a bar chord. For example a C power chord is x355xx instead of x35553. 3) The E/Em dilemma. I eventually settled on Em. It's definitely an Em for the last verse, but for the chorus I'm not sure. It doesn't really matter as I'm playing power chords in the chorus anyway. That said, I think this is pretty close. Any questions, please feel free to mail me. I just can't get anything that sounds like it. It's also repeated later in the song. Other than that, though, the tab's fine. It's even got the violin outro bit. This way, the intro/verse riff is a LOT easier. Also, please help! I need the rest of the words! Use bar chords throughout, but if you're using the capo, the F in the interlude bit will have to be played higher up. eg. x-8-10-10-10-8 (chord is not relative to capo, refers to actual frets!) Intro/Verse Riff: ---------------- Tabbing here IS relative to capo, but chord names are kept normal (as if the capo wasn't there). So it is basically a B chord, but here it will look like an A. If this confuses you, please just ask! If you don't have a capo, just play a B chord (x24442) or you can even try playing the B with all the sus variations as below, but it's very difficult without a capo. (Though it does attract some odd looks and threats). And I've pencilled it in for use at my funeral. To tab, this was (maybe still is?) a complete bastard, mainly cause of some bass stuff that really throws me off on a couple of the chords. So if you use this, tell me how wonderful it is, or at least fix up those couple of mistakes that have no doubt crept in. There was a tab for this floating around the net somewhere but, and no offense to whoever it was (because I know how hard it was to work out!), but it was completely wrong. I've had most of this done for ages, but have been stuck on the bridge part on the end for months. A couple of side notes before you start... The F-C-C/B-C which is the main part of the verse (and a good bit of the chorus) could really be done either of 2 ways. Using F 133211 F 133211 C x32010 or C x35553 C/B x20010 C/B x25553 I prefer the first myself, but take this with a grain of salt as they're probably both wrong. It would be nice if you've got a bass player to play the B. Anyway... enough of my crap. Here we go!
