THE DEAD MILKMEN The Blues Song from Stoney's Extra Stout (Pig) Tabbed by: Ben Gladdle (moose9377@hotmail.com) The guitar is pretty much done, except for the solo, which is quite hard to hear clearly. The bass drives the verse for the song, and that's my next aim with this one. However, the guitar here should keep you going for a while... Verse: ----- The verse consists of the following 4 riffs repeated as necessary. You could also use (8-10-10-9-8-8) as the C chord, which makes the walk up easier. However, the tab was cleaner with the lower C :) Basically, I don't think it matters which you choose. A riff: A A G#A A A G#A E---------5-------5\4/5-----------5-------5\4/5--- B---------5-------5\4/5-----------5-------5\4/5--- G---------6-------6\5/6-----------6-------6\5/6--- D---------7-------7\6/7-----------7-------7\6/7--- A---------7-------7\6/7-----------7-------7\6/7--- E---------5-------5\4/5-----------5-------5\4/5--- D riff: D D C#D D D C#D E---------5-------5\4/5-----------5-------5\4/5--- B---------7-------7\6/7-----------7-------7\6/7--- G---------7-------7\6/7-----------7-------7\6/7--- D---------7-------7\6/7-----------7-------7\6/7--- A---------5-------5\4/5-----------5-------5\4/5--- E------------------------------------------------- A riff2: A A G#A A A BbB C E---------5-------5\4/5-----------5-------5-6-7-3- B---------5-------5\4/5-----------5-------5-6-7-5- G---------6-------6\5/6-----------6-------6-7-8-5- D---------7-------7\6/7-----------7-------7-8-9-5- A---------7-------7\6/7-----------7-------7-8-9-3- E---------5-------5\4/5-----------5-------5-6-7--- C riff: C C B C C C B C E---------3-------3\2/3-----------3-------3\2/3--- B---------5-------5\4/5-----------5-------5\4/5--- G---------5-------5\4/5-----------5-------5\4/5--- D---------5-------5\4/5-----------5-------5\4/5--- A---------3-------3\2/3-----------3-------3\2/3--- E------------------------------------------------- A riff We can stand naked on the corner of Main Street, baby, and Let everybody slow down and take a look D riff You can drive your Cadillac to the library, baby, and maybe read the Last ten pages of an Agatha Christie book A riff 2 You can feed my cat to my dog And turn around and feed my dog to my horse C riff You can screw the whole damn royal family, baby, until they All get a divorce Chorus: ------ G F Baby, baby, baby Bb F Baby, you can do anything you wanna do, baby B C I swear it will not bother me D Cause, baby, you know Baby, you know you've got to You've got to D# You've got to be what you're going to be verse: You can burn down the orphanage, baby, over there on the Poor side of town You can go to the circus, baby, frighten the elephants See if you can get them to maybe, Trample a clown You can steal the prize out of my box of cereal, baby, and Replace it with a rat You can walk up to someone who might be a little overweight And be kinda sensitive about it and say "Oh my god, you're really fat!" chorus: Live and let live, baby That's the cornerstone The very essence of my philosophy And baby Baby, you know You know you've got to You've got to You've got to be what you're going to be verse: I'm gonna play my harmonica Since I charge $35 a note I'm not gonna play much of my harmonica You see the blues The blues isn't an art form It's not a type of music The blues is a product Not unlike computer chips or tampons The blues is a way for white kids to feel That they understand the feelings of black people Without ever having to meet any of them The blues is all these things and more Available for $19.95 chorus: Oh, baby Baby, you can do whatever you wanna do, baby Baby, you know it's not going to bother me Cause baby you know You know you've got to You've got to be what you're going to be Solo: (with verse riffs) ---- Here comes the solo!
